Our Vision
The Respect Life Office works to instill respect for human life at all stages and to facilitate an attitude of openness of mind and heart to God's special gift of life. Created in the image and likeness of God, each of us is unique and special with a responsibility to God, self and others to nurture, protect and sustain life at all stages of human existence. The value of life pertains to the whole of everyone's life. Our efforts are focused on building a new culture of human life that respects the life and the dignity of every member of the human family. The value of life is lived in our daily lives through our relationships with others. Respect Life Office's role is to help all Catholics to better understand and carry out their responsibilities as Christians to one another. This is accomplished through encouragement, information, training in specific areas to assist people locally in their efforts to ensure that each person's dignity is recognized and enhanced and that no one goes unnoticed. To develop a culture of life in each Parish, and thus the Diocese as a whole, there must be integration/harmony between what we think, say and do. Thus, there must be a balance of effort in four areas: spiritual, pastoral, educational and support. The spiritual must influence all our activities.

A circle represents life, and the world. The spiral resembles our journey through life, and also represents a fetus, showing us the beginning of life. At the end of our journey is heaven, represented by the cross and sun. The fern leaves surrounding the cirlce remind us of hands, and growth. 'Dignity and Sanctity For All Human Life From Conception Until Natural Death', completes the logo, and gives us its meaning.
